Congratulations to Dr Mark Dawson and Professor Angela Woollacott for leading two outstanding history projects that were successful in the 2023 round of ARC Discovery projects.
The two successful projects were:
1. DP230100204 Living with Smallpox in Early Modern Britain (c.1580–1780 CE). Dr Mark Dawson (ANU) $182.598.00. This project aims to examine how people in the past made sense of an acute infectious disease, including its long-term effects on individuals and their communities.
2. DP230101051 Challenging colonialism: Australians who helped us embrace human equality. Professor Angela Woollacott (ANU) $97,767.00. This project aims to investigate how ten influential Australian thinkers, writers and activists helped the nation to embrace human equality in the mid-twentieth century.
